16 and Pregnant has finally returned after 2 years have gone by since the last season!
In this first episode, we meet Maddy, a girl from Tinley Park, IL (home state, ya'll) who gets pregnant from a one night stand after breaking up with her long-term boyfriend. Cody, the babydaddy, hasn't been around for the first seven months of her pregnancy and is just now going to his first doctor's appointment with Maddy. She is having a girl and naming her Aubrey. She later sits poolside with her friends to talk about going back to school and what will happen after the baby arrives. She then talks to her mom, only to find out that she will be kicked out after the baby is born because there are already too many people in the house. She has the option to stay with Cody or her dad, but Maddy doesn't like either of those options.
Maddy's one night stand illustrated in about 5 seconds...
"No I'm not Maddy's boyfriend, just some guy that donates sperm..."
"I keep havin' babies, so there's no more room in my house!!"
Cody offers Maddy to live at his parents' place, so the family join to talk about it. Later is Maddy's first day of school, which goes horribly due to the fact that she's a pregnant high-schooler. After school, Maddy meets up with her softball friends to toss a ball around while Maddy is very pregnant, as you do. During their game, Cody calls and asks her on their very first date (other than that one time when Aubree was conceived). They go to a local pizza joint, but the romance end quickly when Aubree's last name is brought up. Cody later apologizes for fighting on their date, but Maddy still refuses to give Aubrey her last name.
Maddy and Cody's family are discussing the baby's room when Maddy goes into labor. We actually don't get to see the birth this time and get a close up of the parents holding the baby they made. However, the happiness doesn't last long when she and Cody get into a fight at the hospital over Aubree's name.
What just a couple minutes can do...
Things get difficult as Maddy brings Aubrey home and Cody never comes around to see her. Because of this, she is reconsidering her decision to live with Cody and decides to move in with her dad. After moving in with her dad, Cody comes over to see Aubrey for the second time in TWO MONTHS and they try to work out a parenting plan.
"Not exactly the career direction I wanted to go..."
"When are these babies gonna stop rollin' in??"
"Ugh, I'm stuck with a doushebag for 18 years!"

Teen Mom 2 Season Finale Recap: "That's the Way Love Goes"
Jenelle Evans: Jenelle and Nathan have started arguing a lot about Nathan quitting his job and one of their arguments gets so loud that the cops are called. Jenelle gets arrested for a breech of peace and Jace is there to witness the whole thing!! (Poor, poor kid!) Nathan bails Jenelle out and she is worried about how this arrest will violate her probation and how she may have to serve jail time while pregnant.
Jenelle heads over to Casa de Babs to talk about her arrest. She told the cops that nothing happened, they just argued because when she told the Courtland incident, Courtland lied, and they both got arrested. Jenelle wants to go to counseling with Nathan since she's pregnant, but Babs thinks Jenelle is doomed, all while Jace asks if Nathan is trying to kill his mom.
Jenelle and Nathan sit down to talk about their situations and how they both need to get lawyers for their cases. They talk about how they are going to fight regardless, but need to keep it away from Jace so he doesn't suffer the consequences of having messed-up parents.
Later, after a doctor's appointment to hear the heartbeat, Jenelle and Nathan get in a HUGE and fight and Nathan tells her to get an abortion. Jenelle is understandably, upset by this because she's too far along and they just heard the heartbeat. They have a screaming match and sobfest, then eventually make up.
"What kind of person kills their baby after hearing the heartbeat!!!"
Kailyn Lowry: Javi has gone back to work, so Kail has had her hands full with both Isaac and baby Lincoln. Isaac starts misbehaving while Kail is feeding Lincoln, so she glad when Javi comes home to help with the kids. Kail finally gets something to eat and tells Javi she doesn't want anymore kids.
Javi is home from work, so he is able to help more with Isaac, so Kail can focus on Lincoln. Meanwhile Jo and Vee discuss how things are going to work now that Isaac will be staying with them instead of at Jo's parents' house. They think things will be fine, but they don't plan on telling Kail about Vee living there. (Uh, Jo, don't you think Kail deserves to know who her son is staying with, just saying...)
Jo calls Kail to tells her that he got a new place in New Jersey and that Isaac will be staying with him and Vee. Kail is over the Vee situation but, understandably, has some concerns about the new living arrangement and all of the change that will occur in Isaac's life. I have to say I think she handled this quite well and I completely understand her concerns about the situation.
Later, Javi comes back home to help with Isaac so Kail can focus on breastfeeding Lincoln. Kail is upset that she hasn't been able to spend much time with Isaac and Javi does his best to comfort her.
"You eat so much for such a little guy!"
Isaac goes over to Jo's and Jo surprises him with an empty room. (Seriously, the work you could pull on a 3-year-old. Not surprisingly, Isaac starts to cry but cheers up once he sees his new room at Jo and Vee's new apartment.
Chelsea Houska: Chelsea's board exams are coming soon, so she's staying in a hotel, since the place is a few hours away. She misses Aubree, but is trying to concentrate on studying. Meanwhile Aubree is with Adam, Taylor, and Paislee for the weekend, and the whole gang goes bowling together. Adam asks Aubree if she had fun (yeah, Adam, way to reel Aubree in fun activities instead of responsible parenting practices), and Adam talks more crap about Chelsea.
Chelsea and her friend have arrived at their hotel room Chelsea calls Aubree to tell her that she will pick her up when she gets back. Chelsea's mom then hangs up because she's watching bachelor (lol). Chelsea then tries to focus on studying and her friend quizzes her.
The next morning, after getting little sleep, Chelsea heads over to take her exam. Afterwards, Chelsea is sure she failed, despite studying all night, and calls her dad for reassurance.
Before Chelsea receives the results, she hears about Adam's infamous car wreck in the news. She talks to her friend about how she's glad he's alive, but that all of her concerns were just proven true.
(I told you Adam was a deadbeat!)
Leah Calvert: Leah and Jeremy have getting along better since he got home from New Mexico and they are able to go out and get a few minutes to themselves. They talk about how Aleah acts out for attention and her fears for Ali in the future. Leah starts to get emotional, so Jeremy hold her hand to comfort her. It's nice to see Jeremy showing her some affection for once...
While packing for Ali's doctor's appointment, Leah talk to her sister about how she wants to find out what caused her disorder and how she's been hearing Ali try to catch her breath at night. She wants to get it checked out and is worried about things going downhill for her.
The next morning, Leah wakes Jeremy and Ali up (in cute pajamas, I must add) and gets Ali ready for her appointment. Ali doesn't want to eat because she is nervous and Leah comforts her. Leah's mom comes by the hotel room and they all leave for the appointment.
They arrive at the appointment and they learn just what caused Ali's disorder. They don't know what to expect in the future because Ali is the only child in the world who has it.
"I couldn't have imagined this when I was 17!"

Teen Mom 2 Recap: Season 5, Episode 12 "What You See is Not What You Get"
Jenelle Evans: Jenelle is almost 2 months pregnant and she and Nathan take Jace to a karate class to help him with his behavioral problems. Jace does well in the class and it's cute to see Jace doing karate.
Jenelle and Nathan go over to Casa de Babs to give her update on their relationship and how they only fight over video games, as you do. Babs is worried about what their plans are for the future, starting a family, with no jobs and all. They claim this isn't a problem because they can share accounts, even though they're not married and Jenelle is still legally married to someone else. Nathan and Babs get in another fight and Nathan storms off.
"Ya guys ah crazy folks ova heah!!!"
To make things worse, Nathan gets arrested for DUI. Jenelle bails him out of jail, but, since this is his third DUI, he could serve a year in prison. (Hey, he and Adam could be cellmates!!!)
Jenelle goes back to Casa de Babs to discuss morning sickness and Nathan's arrest. Babs is worried about her, but Jenelle says is on him (no, actually DUI's affect a lot of people, Jenelle!).
"No, people don't die from drunk drivers, duh!"
Kailyn Lowry: Kail is due next week and there's still a lot to do to get ready for the new addition. Kail is stressed out as they try to paint the baby's room, as Javi is basically screwing the whole thing up and getting paint on the baseboards.
Soon after, Kail starts having contractions, so Javi and Peach drive her to the hospital. Peach sits out in the waiting room while Javi rubs Kail's back during painful contractions. Finally, after 16 hours of labor, baby Lincoln enters the world. Isaac comes to the hospital to meet his little brother and claims that it's HIS baby (the kid is so cute!!!) and comments that his hair is disgusting. (Hey, the thing just traveled out of Kail's womb, he's not going to be perfectly clean!!)
It's now time to come home from the hospital and Kail is feeling pretty great, for just giving birth. At home, her and Javi talk about how her mom has already broken her promise that she made the week before. Then, Kail gets emotional when Isaac falls asleep in her arms.
"So cute :)"
Peach comes over to see Lincoln and talk to Kail about the issues with her mom and splitting her time between Isaac and Lincoln. Javi comes in the room and Peach asks him how it feels to be a dad. He says he's not sure, but learning and so in love.
"I'm so exited that you're here!!!"
Chelsea Houska: It's time for the holiday program at Aubree's preschool and things get awkward when Adams brings baby Paislee along with him. They then attempt to work together to help Aubree with a paper plate snowman, but can't get along on who gets to do what.
Chelsea sits down to talk to her lookalike/friend Megan about how awkward the recital was. Aubree was grabbing Chelsea's hand and bringing her to Paislee. Meanwhile, Adam and Taylor are talking about the same moment and how Adam hopes that he'll be able to bring Aubree to his place someday (yeah buddy, you know you actually to prove you're a decent parent by staying out of trouble before that can happen!!!).
"Adam, can you just be happy that you get to see her at all???"
At work, Chelsea tells her boss that her boards are in a few weeks and once passes those, she'll be able to do everything at work. Even though it took Chelsea almost 2 years to complete her GED, she's exited to have finished her education and start a career.
Though Chelsea has been working a lot and hasn't spent much time with Aubree, Adam's mom picks Aubree up at her work. She then meets up with her friend and tells her that Adam barely spent much time with Aubree and Aubree was wondering why. She also told her that Adam changed his number and refused to give it to her. She confronted him and he called her a bitch (real mature for a dad, Adam!)
Leah Calvert: Jeremy finally comes home from his job in New Mexico, but tensions rise again when he finds texts from Corey on Leah's phone and storms off. When he return, they talk about the situation and Leah assures Jeremy that he has nothing to worry about. They talk about their arguments and Jeremy FINALLY agrees to go to counseling to work on their marriage.
"I'm glad you finally want to work on us!!"
Leah then meets up with Corey and his mountain beard to give him doctor papers. They then reminisce about the good ol' days of when they were married and how their divorce was a consequence of having kids at 17. For 2 people who are supposedly happily married to other people, this seems very strange...
Leah, Corey, and Jeremy meet up at Ali and Aleah's gymnastics practice and things between Corey are pretty tense. When they leave, Leah confronts Jeremy about his issues with Corey. Also, Aleah continues to act out, despite the discipline they try to give her.
Leah and Jeremy try to get Addy to walk while they talk about their relationship issues. They both agree to work on their marriage and go to counseling.

Next Week: Nathan wants Jenelle to get an abortion, Kail finds out that Jo's girlfriend moved in with her, Adam gets in a car accident and is nearly killed, and Ali starts to have breathing problems.
Teen Mom 2 Recap: Season 5 Episode 11 "Out of the Blue"
Jenelle Evans: While Babs is feeding Jace a pickle, Nathan is reading a 'bible' (like this guy totally practices what he preaches, you know, living with someone who's technically still married to someone else). Jenelle comes in and tells Nathan that she's pregnant. Nathan asks Jenelle if she's sure she wants another child. (Umm, isn't that something you ask before conceiving, not after???) Jenelle thinks the baby will bring them closer, but is not worried if they split up because she'll be able to take care of the baby on her own, you know, with no degree, no job a criminal record, and no custody of the kid she already has...
Jenelle heads to the doctor to get an ultrasound of the baby, even though the baby is only half an inch big so far. Jenelle then tells the doctor that this was a planned pregnancy and she even had an ovulation calendar. The doctor then asks Jenelle if she smokes or does street drugs. Jenelle says she smokes one or 2 cigarettes a day, but Nathan will make her quit. Let's hope so for this kid's sake...
While Nathan's at work, Jenelle drives to Casa de Babs to tell her and Jace about the pregnancy. She first asks how Jace is doing. Babs says that he's being a little mean, but she's doing timeouts with him like they do at his school and it seems to work. (Really Babs, you're just NOW thinking of this??) Jenelle then tells her mom she's pregnant and Babs tells her that she won't take another baby if she and Nathan split up. Jenelle tells her mom that she wouldn't want her to and then goes to tell Jace in the cutest way possible.
"This is your newest brother or sister!!"
Jenelle goes back home and meets up with Nathan to talk about her pregnancy. They talk about the fights that they have and how they need to fix all their problems before the baby comes.
Kailyn Lowry: Kail's wedding is over and she and Javi get some time to themselves, since they can't go on a honeymoon now, due to the baby being due soon. The next morning, Kail expresses her gratefulness for Javi's family and what she's nervous about with the new baby. She also talks about how her deadbeat mom has been calling her and whether she'd let her be a part of Isaac and the new baby's life. She says maybe, but it would take a very long time of her staying sober.
Kail and Javi are back from 'Philly' (aka New Jersey) and it's time for Isaac to go to his dad's. Javi has to take Isaac to Jo's alone, since Kail is too pregnant to ride in the car for 2 hours. Kail is worried that it will be awkward, but things go off without a hitch.
When Javi comes home from work, Kail has something big to tell him: that she had a conversation with her mom for the first time in about 2 years. She tells him that her mom wanted to stay with them, but doesn't know what her intentions are. On a side note I loved how warm and supportive Javi seemed this scene. :)
"I wish you'd stop messing with me, mom."
In the next scene, a very pregnant Kail sits down to give her mom a call. She tells her mom that she's welcome to come down to see the birth and help with the baby if she wants. Her mom promises to be there and Kail is in tears because she doesn't know whether to believe her or not and too hurt from everything that has already happened. This scene is actually quite sad...
Chelsea Houska: Aubree is at school and when Chelsea fetches the mail, she finds more papers from Adam. She calls her dad (as per usual) to tell him and he tells her to send him copies to give to their lawyer. Her dad thinks they have a strong case, "He's been in and out of her life, in and out of jail, in and out of everything else", but Chelsea is frustrated that Aubree has to deal with this.
"I call daddy for everything!"
It's time to pick Aubree up from daycare and when Chelsea mentions going out for ice cream, Aubree throws a huge tantrum because she can't invite her cousin over to play. Aubree continues to scream in the car and Chelsea calls her dad yet again because Aubree is being 'so naughty' and doesn't know how to discipline her own child.
Once Aubree calms down, Chelsea and her friend take her out for ice cream (great way to reward your child for a tantrum, Chelsea). Chelsea and her friend talk about the upcoming court case, while Aubree suffers a brain freeze from the ice cream ('It's cooolldd'!!!).
It's time for the court date, but instead of going in front of a judge, Chelsea and Adam's lawyers are able to come to a temporary agreement. Aubree goes to Adam's parent's house every other weekend and he's not allowed to drive with her (thank god, considering his record of 3 DUI's and numerous other driving charges!!!)
Leah Messer: Leah hasn't talked to Jeremy since he left for his job and is so stressed out taking care of 3 kids that she starts screaming at them for misbehaving. She takes Ali to her physical therapy appointment to practice in her wheelchair. Ali has fun chasing Aleah and Leah is happy that Ali feels free.
When Leah drops the girls off with Corey, she fills him in on Ali's appointment. She says it could be awhile before they get the wheelchair, but will know more when they go to Ohio in a month. Meanwhile, Aleah is kicking Ali in the backseat and Leah and Corey discuss stronger discipline for Aleah. (Can't these two notice that Aleah needs one-on-one time when Ali and Addalynn get all the attention???)
Leah goes out to lunch with her mom to talk about Ali's wheelchair, and her mom could see her running over Aleah. They also talk about Leah and Jeremy's lack of communication and how Jeremy acts like his wife and kids don't exist when he goes on work trips.
Leah finally get a hold of Jeremy, only to find out that he wants a divorce. Leah is upset, calling her fiend Kayla, crying, embarrassed about getting divorced twice and having 3 kids at the age of 21.
"When are men gonna stop leaving me??"

The Downside to Defining Your Life Too Early
Oh, how lovely that free space looks! (google.com)
Once people graduate high school, what is the number one question people always ask them? What do you want to study? What do you want to major in? What do you want to do with your life? All these annoying questions that an eighteen wants to snap back with, I don't know! Why do I need to define my life's direction in the next fifteen minutes??
Though 50-60 years ago people were expected to have their complete identity achieved by the age of eighteen (this include things like ethnic identity, gender identity, sexual identity, and vocational identity) as well as knowing if one wanted to settle down, get married, and start a family by the age of eighteen, that's not so much the case anymore.
Previous psychologists once believed that adolescents go through something called Identity vs. Role Confusion and if they didn't seal an identity by the time they were eighteen, they experienced role confusion. However, recently, their have been many critics of this theory. One, saying that most people do not have a clear identity set at the age of eighteen and are still going through moratorium (the process of identity exploration) for many of these identities. Another, saying that emerging adulthood (ages 18-25) is some of the best time to explore these identities. Though we don't know if these differences are due to a change in culture or something else, but they're holding true for many people today.
So is it bad not to know what career path you want to take your freshman year of college. Secretly be annoyed when schools and other people are pressuring you choose a definite major right away? Be frustrated when people want to know your complete life plan is and whether you want to get married and/or have a family right when starting adulthood? Not necessarily. In fact, taking time explore different options can make a person more successful in the career world and more satisfied in their life choices. Because of exploration, they are more certain of themselves and their identities.

Javi and Kail cry through their emotional/adorable vows, all while Isaac is whispering sweet nothing to his mama. Teen Mom 2 Recap: Season 5 Episode 9 "Miss You Much"
Jenelle Evans: It's Jace's fourth birthday and he stays over at Jenelle and Nathan's pad that morning while Babs gets ready for the party. Later, Jenelle drives him to the party, along with a ginormous Spiderman cake. Babs calls the frosting 'fundue' and tells the kids they can't eat it (um!), and Jenelle flips her lid over this. Babs is then upset when she finds out that Ken Doll (um, I mean Nathan) is coming to the party as well. At the festivities Nathan and Babs make up while Jace is randomly hitting all of his friends...as you do. Jenelle and Babs see this as a problem and they talk about it about the party why Jace is so aggressive.
Kailyn Lowry: Their gorgeous wedding is only a week away, and Kail and Javi discuss who's not invited... Jo. Apparently, he actually wanted to come, (you know, cause having your ex there wouldn't be weird at all...). Kail's mom is also not invited because she doesn't want pain on her wedding day. Kail breaks down in tears over the situation and cute little Isaac tries to comfort his mama.
"Why did you have to hurt me so deeply, mom?"
Kail then packs her things for the wedding and Isaac melt everyone's little hearts by getting excited over Kail's dress. Cutest. Kid. Ever. Later, at a hotel, Javi talks to his groomsmen about his relationship with Kail and it's nice to see how maturely he talks, even with his friends. Meanwhile also talks about their relationship with her bridesmaids and makes up with Javi's family.
Chelsea Houska: Chelsea meets up with her friend at a local coffee shop to discuss her objection to Adam's visitation request. Meanwhile, Adam's friend comes over to his dump to talk about the upcoming court cases and how he think he can win because he only 'a couple DUI's' (try 3 and 3 dozen other charges). Chelsea also enrolls Aubree into dance classes and she looks so adorable in a tutu.
"Ready to shake your booty, girl?"
Leah Messer: It's time for Jeremy to go back to work again and Leah is upset, as per usual.
"I can't even have help bathing my kids?"
Leah suggests that they try counseling, or nags him with it. Jeremy gets fed up with it, and slaps a piece of bacon in her face. Yes, Leah was being annoying here, but slapping her with the bacon was pretty rude.
"Here's what you get for all your gripin'."
"You just went too far, buddy!!"
As...you...do...
Later, Leah's sister comes over to talk how perfect Leah's life is and Leah sets her straight...that having three kids at age 21 with a hubby gone all the time is far from perfect. Jeremy then comes home and tells her that he quit his job... for a new offer in New Mexico.
